Participation in the Elsevier Basic Sciences Olympiad (EBSO) 2025 is governed by the following rules and regulations. By registering for the competition, you agree to abide by these guidelines to ensure a fair and smooth examination process.
Participant Criteria: Only first-year medical and dental students are eligible to participate in EBSO 2025.
Registration Requirement: Participants must complete the registration process before the deadline to be eligible for the examination. Participants must provide accurate and complete information during the registration process. Any discrepancies may result in disqualification.
Question Types: The examination will consist of multiple-choice questions designed to assess knowledge in basic sciences relevant to first-year medical and dental studies.
Time Limits: Each round of the examination will have a specified time limit. Participants must complete the exam within this timeframe.
Individual Participation: The examination is to be taken individually. Collaboration or assistance from any other person is strictly prohibited.
No Outside Resources: Participants may not use any external materials, notes, or online resources during the exam.
Cheating or Plagiarism: Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or misconduct will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.
Unprofessional Behavior: Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Disruptive behavior may lead to disqualification.
Result Notification: Participants will be notified of their results via email following the completion of each round of the examination.
Information Use: The personal information collected during registration will be used solely for the purposes of EBSO 2025 and related communications. It will not be shared with third parties without consent.
Right to Modify: Elsevier reserves the right to modify these rules and regulations as necessary. Participants will be notified of any significant changes.
Agreement: By registering for EBSO 2025, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with these rules and regulations.
